In a vibrant celebration of expression, innovation, and advocacy, HELSI organized a Visual Arts Competition in commemoration of the 2025 children’s day celebration, not only to promote artistic talent but also to foster civic engagement and social responsibility among young people.

Theme: “My Rights, My Voice”, the competition provided students with an opportunity to explore and communicate issues around human rights, gender equality, peace, education, and environmental responsibility through drawings and paintings. Participants were guided by HELSI Creative Director to reflect on real-life challenges in their communities and express possible solutions through art.
Over 50 students from various schools took part in the competition, ensuring inclusive participation. The students’ artwork addressed powerful themes such as the importance of girl-child education, the dangers of gender-based violence, and the power of unity and justice in nation-building.
Beyond the creativity displayed, the competition served as a capacity-building platform. Participants learned how to translate their ideas into visual stories, communicate through symbolism, and present their work confidently to judges and peers.
Winning entries were celebrated and winners received educational materials. The top artworks are now part of HELSI’s mobile exhibition and will be used in future advocacy campaigns and community outreaches.
The Visual Arts Competition reinforced HELSI’s belief that every child has a voice, and every voice deserves to be heard. By merging art with activism, the competition inspired young minds to become ambassadors for peace, equity, and justice—paving the way for a generation that not only imagines change but creates it.
